1- Why should you pitch your music?

Getting your songs on curated playlists is one of the best ways of getting your music heard. The more you get "playlisted", the more streams you will get, which increases the chances of boosting your fan base and revenue. Pitching Spotify's playlist through iMusician is easy, but you'll need to bear in mind a few conditions:

2- Some things to keep in mind

General info about pitching:

It’s totally free to use and external parties can’t influence Spotify's editors -- so don't be fooled and pay anyone. Submitting a song doesn’t guarantee a playlist placement, but it’s better to try than not!

You can submit one song per release at a time.

You can’t submit compilations.

You can’t submit if you’re a featured artist on the song.

You can’t submit a track that has already been released on Spotify.

You are only able to submit on your desktop, the mobile version of Spotify for Artists does not support this feature.

There’s no set amount of time a song will stay on the playlist - it depends on how well it resonates with listeners.

You can’t remove yourself from a playlist. Please keep in mind that we only deliver your release in advance. You will then have to pitch your track directly from your Spotify for Artists profile. For more information about this, please have a look at our Spotify Guide.

3- How to request the early delivery, step by step, for your release?

Your release WILL NOT automatically be shown on your "upcoming releases" on Spotify for Artists. You have to inform us that you want to pitch, at the third step (“Delivery”) when you’re creating your release. Please follow the instructions below:

Select the price plan that you want

Make sure that at least Spotify is selected in the “Select shops” section

In the “Date” section: Confirm whether your release has been previously distributed or not, either physically or digitally (to pitch to playlists, your track must be new and unreleased on Spotify (no back catalogue. If the release has been physically distributed, you can still pitch it.)

Confirm that you intend to pitch, by selecting “Yes”

Chose the Digital release date [The system will automatically apply Priority or Express delivery fees, if needed]

NB: If you’re pitching your first release, we will have to ask Spotify to create a new artist profile, and request the URI, so that you can have access to Spotify for Artists, and be able to pitch your music from your “Upcoming Releases” section. Don’t worry, we will send you an email with the URI early enough to allow you to claim your profile on Spotify for Artist on time, and be able to pitch.

Things to be careful about when you’re selecting the dates for your release (Step 3 “Delivery” in iMusician App) during the distribution request:

To pitch a track for an official Spotify playlist, the release needs to be delivered 14 days in advance. By selecting "Yes" in “Do you intend to submit your release to editorial playlists through Spotify for Artists?”, we will deliver your release at least 14 days in advance of your digital release date. Only available dates will be shown in the calendar. No worries, your release will be available on Spotify for Artists on time to request the pitching.

By selecting "No" we cannot guarantee that your release will be delivered with enough time for you to pitch a track.

Priority and Express Delivery fees still apply since we need to process your release within 48 hours.
